Rich career

By 1990, Dr. Kandah began to put this extended academic knowledge in the service of a number of the most prominent official and private institutions and bodies in Jordan and the region, where he joined the Research Department of the Central Bank of Jordan as an economist until 2006.

During his service at the Central Bank, Dr. Kandah was assigned to work as an economic advisor in the Jordanian Prime Ministry during the period from 1997 to 1998. In 2001, he began employing his experience at the regional level by working with Qatar Central Bank as an economist, seconded by the Central Bank of Jordan. Until 2004.

Dr. Qandah returned to Jordan to assume the position of economic advisor to the Minister of Labor during the period from 2005-2006, in addition to his work as a director of the National Employment and Training Project during the last period of his service in the Ministry of Labor. In 2006, he served as general manager of the Association of Banks in Jordan, until 2020, during which time he joined the National Dialogue Committee in 2011.

During the period from 2013 to 2017, Dr. Kandah obtained membership in the Economic and Social Council in Jordan. In addition, Dr. Qandah worked as the head of the Group of Officers Responsible in Banks to follow up the implementation of (FATCA Law) in the Union of Arab Banks.

Media

Dr. Kandah believed in the importance of attendance and media contributions through a weekly column (on Sunday) in the Jordanian Al-Rai newspaper, as well as contributions to “The Jordan Times” newspaper, newspapers and websites. Dr. Kandah previously contributed through a weekly column (on Wednesday) to the Jordanian newspaper Al-Ghad during the period 2019-2021, and two columns per week to Al-Arab Al-Youm newspaper during the period 2008-2012, in addition to his distinguished presence in several radio, television and press interviews on a regular basis to share his experiences and knowledge with the audience.

Over the course of these positions and media contributions, Dr. Kandah has achieved a number of distinguished achievements and enhanced his knowledge and expertise in a number of general areas such as preparing strategic plans, vision, mission and executive plans, developing strategic action plans, monitoring and evaluating them, writing technical reports, as well as conducting economic and financial research and advisory studies. and banking, in addition to preparing and analyzing survey studies.

Academic start, scientific and training roles:

After obtaining his bachelor’s degree from Yarmouk University in 1985, Dr. Kandah hastened to obtain a master’s degree in economics in 1987 from the (American) Middle East Technical University in the Turkish capital, Ankara. Then he received his military training and joined as a military commissioner at Mutah University, the military wing, and worked as a research and teaching assistant at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences until the end of his military service in 1990. In 1996, Dr. Qandah obtained a scholarship from the Central Bank to obtain a doctorate degree, which he obtained from the University of Glasgow / Scotland – United kingdom.

Dr. Kandah did not cut his ties with the academic world. In conjunction with his professional career, he worked as a part-time professor in a number of the most prominent Jordanian and regional academic edifices, teaching several subjects in economics at the level of bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and professional certificates at the University of Jordan, Qatar University, the Hashemite University, and the University of Al-Zaytoonah of Jordan, the Jordanian Diplomatic Institute, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University College for Innovation/Masters in Business Administration (MBA), the Institute of Banking Studies in Jordan and the Institute of Banking Studies in Jordan.

He also participated in many international, regional and local conferences, seminars and workshops, as well as preparing and authoring a number of books, researches and published studies, which include seven books focused on: Engines of Economic Growth, Privatization, Banks, Financial Crises, GATS, Banks and Economic Policies to constitute a reference for researchers to enhance their economic knowledge. Dr. Kandah has also published several studies and research papers in various fields, including economics, commerce, finance and banking. Dr. Kandah presents a weekly economic program on social media platforms under the name Economic Horizons.

Dr. Kandah’s contributions were not limited to that, but he also worked through his membership in a number of prestigious institutions and organizations to spread his diverse knowledge in the areas of financial and economic crises, monetary policy, financial policy, international economics, financial markets, labor economics, banking, and economic development , control and regulation, privatization, public-private partnership, sustainable development, and corporate social responsibility.
